John-Michael McColl
Executive Director at The Salt Spring Forum, formerly worked as a Parliamentary intern in Ottawa

John Michael McColl is the founding Executive Director of the Salt Spring Forum. As a Canadian and a student of Latin American government, he has both an academic and a personal interest in the defence and revitalization of democratic institutions.  He received an undergraduate degree in International Development from Queen’s University and completed his Master’s degree at Georgetown University where his work focused on governance in the Andean Region.

Before returning home to Salt Spring Island to help with the creation of the Forum, he gained work experience on Parliament Hill, with the United Nations Development Programme, and at the Canadian Embassy in Washington.
