Jim Hoggan is one of Canada’s most respected public relations professionals and the president of the award-winning firm Hoggan & Associates. He has spent three decades in public relations specializing in issues and crisis management. He has represented a wide spectrum of corporate and government clients including Shell Canada, Canadian Pacific Railway, Ballard Power Systems and QLT Therapeutics, Government of British Columbia, City of Vancouver, University of British Columbia, Vancouver General Hospital, BC Hydro, Vancouver International Airport and others.
Jim is the founder of the influential website DeSmogBlog, chosen as one of Time Magazine’s Best Blogs for 2011. He also serves as a trustee of the Dalai Lama Centre and Chair of the David Suzuki Foundation.
Jim sits on Shell Global's External Review Committee as an expert adviser on their annual sustainability and environmental reporting. In 2009, he led the Province of British Columbia’s Green Energy Advisory Task Force on Community Relations and First Nations Partnerships.
Jim is the author of three books, Do the Right thing, PR Tips for a Skeptical Public (2009), Climate Cover Up, Exposing the PR Crusade to Deny Global Warming (2009) and The Polluted Public Square (Spring 2014).
