Dr. John Robinson

Professor with the Institute for Resources, Environment, and Sustainability, and the Department of Geography, at the University of British Columbia. He is currently directing research into the intersection of climate change mitigation, adaptation and sustainability; the use of visualization, modeling and citizen engagement to explore sustainable futures; sustainable buildings and urban design; and creating private/public/NGO and research sector partnerships for sustainability.
 
How do we provoke and inspire social mobilization? How do we reform the institutional rules (from codes of practice to job descriptions) that block or facilitate change? How do we engage the marketplace, leveraging the self-interest of commercial ventures that can (and must) be part of the solution?
